The 6th Annual FAMILY STILL MATTERS - free beach concert and festival was held on Saturday at Rockaway Beach (Queens, NY). Each year family focused event brings a free alternative to summer enjoyment for all families of all cultures. The day was filled with live music, performances-including spoken word, local choirs, notable comedians, live DJs, clowns, face painting, games, a boardwalk fashion show and many surprise guests.

FAMILY STILL MATTERS is not limited to just entertainment but also brings services to the community. Each year, supporters, sponsors and event team members help support families in need by providing school supplies, clothing, food and donated gifts. The event also provides a centralized location for organizations and companies to set up booths dedicated to job search, health awareness and other community based driven initiatives.

Created in 2005 by Claudia Lyons - CEO of Keep This Link Entertainment, this annual event brings families from all over the New York City Tri State, New England, D.C. areas including friends as far as Florida, who travel for good family fun. The family day has seen the support of Councilman Eric Ulrich, BET Networks, Caribbean Life Newspaper, Modells Sports Store, NY Parks and Recreation, Color Heritage, Brooklyn Fashion Weekend, TV show host Bea Montgomery, just to name a few.

Lyons is passionate about the charitable annual event. "At Family Still Matters we focus on every different type of family dynamic and provide a free alternative of having fun and enjoyment for the whole family," she stated. Lyons has been dedicated to creating “links” of resources and relationships with individuals and families to companies and organizations. With a smile on her face she adds, " This year our theme is “A Family That Plays Together Stays Together,” so bring mom, dad, grand mom, the babies, bring everyone and don't forget to walk with sunscreen and your picnic baskets!"
