Jammins Productions boasts an historic 20 years in concert promotion and production in the US and on an international platform. Lead by George Crooks, founder and president, Jammins has successfully evolved into one of the premier event management and marketing companies based in New York. The width and breadth of the company’s expertise in indoor and outdoor events grows every year.
Started in 1987, Jammins’ leveraged its’ international connections and pulled off the first-ever St. Mary Reggae Music Festival in Jamaica. Showcased on that line-up were reggae heavyweights, Dennis Brown, Cocoa Tea, Freddie McGregor and two-time Grammy Award ® winner Shabba Ranks. Other events produced in the Caribbean featured were Regina Belle up close and personal; Jazz great Chuck Mangione performing for the Prime Minister of Jamaica.
The ‘90s started out with a bang for Jammins. In the summer of 1991, Jammins produced the first annual New York Reggae Music Festival (NYRMF) at Steeple Chase Park in Coney Island, the first festival of its kind in the history of New York City. To this day Jammins continues to promote and produce outdoor events such as the annual Brooklyn Music Festival at Aviator Sports & Recreation field. Events have been staged at other landmark venues across the east coast such as Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, Hammerstein Ballroom, Forrest Hills Stadium, Downing Stadium – Randals Island, KeySpan Stadium, Miami’s –James L. Knight, Bayside Park, Philly’s – LiaCoures Center, Queen Mary Park in LA and Atlanta’s – Stone Mountain Tennis Stadium.
Since 2005 to present Jammins has ventured into venue management with the establishment of the Cultural Performing Arts Center (C-PAC) in Brooklyn, New York. From this 40,000 square foot location Jammins Entertainment continues to produce concerts, family and community oriented events.
This past summer for two sold out nights Jammins Entertainment produced the first Soul Legends and Reggae Legend concert series at Brooklyn’s landmark venue – Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). The Soul Legends concert featured the Temptations, Rose Royce, Blue Magic, Chilites, Manhattans along with the Drifters and the Reggae Legend concert featured superstars Beres Hammond, Marcia Griffiths, Gregory Isaacs, Inner Circle, Third World and Culture. The Legends series is now a staple event at BAM
