Today is the thirteenth anniversary of Notorious B.I.G.’s death, and P. Diddy is planning a celebration in honor of the late Biggie Smalls.

The party will be at The Lab, in Bed-Stuy, which Biggie declared as his territory. The dress code will be Biggie Inspired, Diddy suggests. So, you know this event will be a fashion show in its own. From Versace, which was one of Biggie’s
favorite clothing labels, to the famous Louis Vuitton; from sun-glasses
in the night club, to being dressed in “Coogi down to the socks” as Biggie would say, this occasion is sure to bring out the best in everyone’s stylish Hip-Hop closet.

Diddy tells MTV, “We’re trying to make March 9th a national Hip-Hop holiday. It already is on the low — It’s a big day. It’s a day to celebrate his life. It’s a day to celebrate the
life of the man. We done did the movie, the records. It’s something
that, I guess as a label we’re obsessed with: Making sure people don’t
forget about this man in a positive way. March 9 is Biggie Day…Bump Biggie all day, feel good and positive.”

Remembering Notorious B.I.G. and all of the late artists is important; it reminds us of where Hip-Hop came from and where Hip-Hop is going.
